Meet Toni, a bariatric patient who feels the whole experience has been great for her. She said the best part about having the surgery is that she is now able to garden and shop for clothes at any store.

Toni had lap band surgery, and she has lost 85 pounds. She said that it’s an entire lifestyle change, and she’s very happy and pleased with the results. 

She admitted that a few people were not supportive of her having the surgery, and they had the perception that she was taking the easy way out by having the surgery. But despite the negative perceptions from her friends, if faced with the same decision, Toni said she would do it again. In fact, she recommends the surgery and Dr. Kim all the time.

In handling the insurance coverage for the surgery, Toni said that Dr. Kim’s nurse, Pam,  was a lifesaver in helping to take care of the paperwork and deal with the insurance companies during the approval process.

She said she initially heard about Dr. Kim after he performed the surgery on a friend. Toni was very impressed with her friends’ outcome and the high recommendation she gave to Dr. Kim.

She said one of the things that stood out in her mind was attending the seminar and hearing Dr. Kim speak. She said when she heard him speak she liked everything he had to say. And when it came time for the surgery, Toni said she wasn’t nervous at all.
